United Arab Emirates (U.A.E) comprises of 7 Emirates: Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Sharjah, Ras Al Khaimah, Fujairah, Ajman and Umm Al Quwain. The country covers an area of 83,600 sq.km with Abu Dhabi as the national capital.
The U.A.E covers a population of 2.4 million with Islam as its religion. The languages widely used are Arabic (Official) & English (Commercial).
About Abu Dhabi
The population in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi in accordance with the statistics of 2003 stands at 1,591,000. Most of this is concentrated into the two cities of Abu Dhabi & Al Ain. The emirate covers 67,350 km², which is 87% of all of the UAE. Abu Dhabi is therefore the largest and most populated emirate among the seven. The vast oil and natural gas reserves, considered to be amongst the largest in the world, are sufficient to last for two more centuries at the current rates of production. This in turn, promises a stable and free development of trade and commerce as well as industry. There are about 30,000 commercial concerns registered with the Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
Climate
From July to September the weather in Abu Dhabi can be extremely hot, with temperatures averaging 38-45 degree C, and more than 90% humidity. The remainder of the year is much milder, with midday temperatures averaging 20-35 degree C. Annual rainfall rarely exceeds 15 cms and fog is common in coastal areas.
